VAAL TRIANGLE - Three Vaal Dam sluice gates will be opened at 12:00 today following an increase in the water inflow into the dam. Deneysville SAPS told the News Team all boat owners are advised to remove their boats from the water. The spokesperson said they also appeal to residents around the lower situated establishments not to panic but to be on alert. A Spokesperson for Rand Water, Peter Hoge, explained that the sluice gates will stay open until Friday to allow the Grand Prix F2 Powerboat World Championships, scheduled for this weekend, to continue. Emergency services and disaster management teams will remain on high alert to provide the necessary services should the need arise.
